Breaking news! In 2022, the LWVSHR adopted a Study of Local Journalism and it turns out we were far-sighted because the LWV of Washington state was at work on a similar study. LWVWA has arrived at a position and our LWV-VA Program Director, Alice Tousignant, has arranged for Washington Leaguers to present a webinar on their position on Nov. 16, at 5:30pm. Our speaker will be Professor Carol Pretlow of the Political Science Department of Norfolk State University. She will provide an analysis of the outcomes of our November 7th election & thoughts on their local & international impact & implications.

On Saturday Nov 20, 2021 LWVSHR had the honor to host Analysis of Virginia's 2021 Elections by Dr. Jesse Richman ODU

Dr. Jesse Richman is Associate Professor of Political Science and International Studies at Old Dominion University. He holds a PHD in Political Science from Carnegie Mellon University, and came to ODU in 2006 after teaching at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Richman teaches courses in American Politics and research methods for the Department of Political Science and Geography, and also teaches Game Theory, Statistics, and Research Methods for the Graduate Program in International Studies.
