Sandra Day O'Connor was the first woman to serve as a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.  During her term on the Court, she was regarded as among the most powerful women in the world. In 1981, O'Connor, who was 51, was nominated by President Ronald Reagan and confirmed unanimously by the Senate. She served for 24 years.

O’Connor was the picture of self-confidence. She was athletic, playing tennis, golf, as well as skiing and horseback riding. In the courtroom, colleagues said, “She had a piercing gaze that could turn into an intimidating stare.”

The League of Women Voters of Ohio is joining forces with Common Cause Ohio to obtain signatures on the Citizens Not Politicians Amendment. Signature books are available now and we will collecting signatures in Hudson throughout December.  Signature collection will continue through at least May. This amendment:

Our friends Common Cause Ohio are partnering with Civic Listening Corps to train volunteers to monitor social media and report misinformation. This helps track misinformation so organizations and regular folks like us can respond with facts targeted to our communities. Interested?
