Early Voting Starts October 28. Early voting will be held at the Otsego County Board of Elections, Meadows Office Complex,140 County Highway 33W, Cooperstown and the Foothills Performing Arts Center, 24 Market St., Oneonta. Check out the times below.

Circle Conversations Aim to Reduce Polarization. The four Fall sessions will be held on October 5 and 19 and November 2 and 16 from 6-8 pm at the Oneonta First Presbyterian Church, 381 Main Street, Oneonta.

The League advocates for issues but does not support or oppose any candidates for office. Every League Board of Directors at each level is required to have a non-partisan policy. The League does not have a single policy that covers all Leagues. A link to the nonpartisan policy of the LWV of the Cooperstown area is available on our website.

In 2023, at least 322 bills restricting voting access were introduced in state legislatures nationwide.

Though many of these restrictions may appear simple and easy to comply with, they often have a huge impact on voters with disabilities, people of color, indigenous communities, students, young voters, and older adults. Four common voting restrictions — third-party ballot drop-off restrictions, early voting restrictions, ballot drop-box restrictions, and strict absentee ballot requirements — are particularly devastating.
